I was at dinner with this woman a few years ago while we discussed vegetarianism. The conversation turned to produce, and where it was best to buy it from. My companion suggested to me that I start getting my veggies and fruits from Whole Foods instead of Publix (local Southern supermarket), as it was fresher and thus better for my body, especially as a professional athlete.
I was skeptical, countering that Whole Foods' stuff was a bit too pricey for my liking.
"Dre, It's your BODY!!"
She was right. I do most of my shopping at Whole Foods now. If you follow me on Snapchat, you can probably tell from my 3-4 weekly trips there.
The well-being of your body (exercise, food) and mind (having goals, staying positive) are not luxuries. Meaning, doing what you need to do to ensure their health should not be financial decisions. They're necessities, like clothes and a place to sleep at night.
Before you cut corners on your mind and body, look at what you spend money on that actually are luxuries. Like shoes, TV, movies, bars & clubs, magazines and anything else that can be easily replaced or lived completely without.
