You may run into a better writer. Or a basketball player who can jump higher. Or a classmate who gets higher test scores.
When you play a game that anyone can participate in, anyone can win. Even when you're the best, you may suffer a defeat here and there. Even the NBA champions lose playoff games.
When you play the game of personal expression though -- saying the things that only you can say -- you are the only one who can win.
No one else can tell your story. No one else has felt what you've felt the same way at the same time for the same reasons.
You cannot possibly lose.
