Every great endeavor begins with a small step. Though everyone agrees with this "common sense," few live as if they understand it.

We ridicule others and chastise ourselves for not-fast-enough progress.

We compare ourselves to people who've been on the job 10X longer than us and decide we can never get there.

We're too embarrassed to be the small fish who knows nothing, so we pretend we know it all and resist the wisdom of those who know better.

Then we go back to where we were and do... nothing.

Not because we can't.
Not because we don't know what to do or how to do it.
Not because we don't have time for ourselves.

Because we spend so much time and energy poking at everybody else, and forget that every success we see has followed a process, whether we know about it or not.

Here's a fact: Your process does not and often will not look like anyone else's.
Yours may take longer and be much harder.

There will be times when your process doesn't even look like a process.

The moments after those times -- and there will be many -- are what matters.

You can join the masses who believe success can be made in the microwave.

Or you can tune out the noise and take one more step in your process, a process that doesn't care what everyone else is doing.

Turn your back to the noise and all of a sudden, you stop hearing it.
