"No" is a very difficult word for people to say -- to your face, at least. How much bad news (at least in the eyes of the messenger) do you get via email and text these days? I personally find it cowardly but that's another discussion.


So if you sell stuff and need a new customer, or you really need a "Yes" answer to your request, ask for it belly-to-belly, as they say. Doesn't guarantee a yes, but people don't like delivering disappointment directly. Take advantage.
