“The problem both for us as a society and as individuals is that we’re asking the wrong question: “How do I get a job doing that?”
What if the better question is: “How do I create a job doing that?””
Though I’m already an entrepreneur and am probably incapable of working a job, I wanted to read Taylor’s book to understand a researched explanation of why a job may be the wrong career path, as opposed to my gut-and-brain-feelings about having a boss.
Pearson explains how the needs of humankind have changed over the last few centuries, most recently from the people holding knowledge having the power to those who can solve complex, no-manual-for-this issues being the ones on top. The author also explains what is means to invest in entrepreneurship, and in turn make yourself more valuable in the ever-changing world we find ourselves in.
One Thing That Would Make The End Of Jobs Better: More explanation of the “invest in entrepreneurship” point Taylor makes. Maybe that’s a future book someone’s working on.
You Should Read The End Of Jobs IF: You’re deciding between getting a job and starting a business. Or, if you’re already in one of hose and are considering a switch to the other. This book will help you make a choice.
