Election time.
This is the most I’ve ever heard people talking about the midterm elections — guess we’ll attribute that to Trump winning the last Presidential election. People seem to be more interested in politics than ever. Anger is a great tool for focusing the mind.
Even when Obama was in office, to me it didn’t feel to be so much about politics than it was about change and the fact that a Black man had actually won. To the casual political follower (people like me), policy and the long-term effect of new laws and the inner workings of the White House didn't seem to matter much.
While every-four-years presidential elections always get a good amount of attention, this is the most-hyped midterm ever. I think it’s the first one I’ve voted in myself, actually.
There has been a lot — A LOT — of energy put into the Resistance movement and other anti-Trump initiatives since before Trump had even assumed his office. Lots of long IG captions, twitters beefs, clapbacks, public condemnations and everything in between.
Now it’s time to see if there’s been any teamwork doing behind all this talk.
