Oh -- I didn't know you based your actions on what other people said you should do. You know the cliché (I'm paraphrasing): if they told you to kill yourself would you do it?

First. Just because someone tells you should do something doesn't mean you should do it. Are you stupid? No. Do you have a brain up there?  Yes. Use it! Yes -- you can listen to what others have to say. Take it all in and observe. After that, asses it all and decide -- this mean you, yourself -- 1) if that advice applies to you and 2) if it makes sense to follow it. There's also 3) has the person giving you advice actually done the thing they're telling you to do? If not, you should think really hard about why.

You're not a robot. You have made it this far in life thinking for yourself, so keep doing it. Hear people out, and then think on your own about what actually makes sense. When you take a person's advice, you are asking the universe to make you more like that person. Is that who you wanna be?
