I heard that the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Jimmy Butler, Toronto Raptors’ Kawhi Leonard and Boston Celtics’ Gordon Hayward would all be sitting out games for “rest” on one particular night last week.
Yes — the NBA season just started a week ago.
I’ve been an anti-fan of NBA players sitting out games for rest ever since LeBron James rested several games a couple years ago and offered a really cheap justification for it, saying that he had played in every NBA arena before, so fans should be OK with him no-showing on some random night.
Michael Jordan wrecked his knees during his last incarnation as a Washington Wizard; he ignored the Irving’s of his own trainer and only even considered not playing when he could barely walk anymore.
I hope none of the players on my fantasy basketball team this season buy into the resting idea.
