LeBron James is one of those few one-of-the-best-ever athletes who doesn’t receive widespread acceptance from the masses of fans. Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter and Wayne Gretzky all got it: almost every fan of their respective sports agrees that the player in question is one of the greats, if not the greatest, period. No qualifications, no yeah, but… it’s just accepted and left alone.

LeBron’s achievements usually have no problem being accepted. His stats, championships, the fact that he lived up to and exceeded the seemingly unreachable pre-debut hype… almost anyone will give LeBron that. But with roughly half of fans, it’s not enough to leave it at that.
