I Don’t Bite

Three women were at the table next to mine, outside of a Starbucks. The tables we each occupied were on the smaller side, with only two seats per table. I was alone, my second chair unused.

One of the seated women glanced back towards me and spoke to her friend, I assume telling the friend to ask me for the unused chair. She looked in my direction, but didn’t ask. So two women sat, while the reluctant woman stood and leaned against the table.
