Failures Don't Give Seminars

Workshops and seminars are usually put on by successful people -- people who have made lots of money or made a great advance in their field or have some other claim to fame or success. These teach how you can replicate that person's success in some way. The books we buy follow the same principle.

People pay good money for this information. But what about the other side? What about the people who came up short, the people who failed? These people don't give seminars and rarely publish books that sell a lot. But there's damn sure a lot we could learn from them.

What mistakes did you make? Who were those wrong people you hung with or listened to? What did you not spend your time doing that you should've? What would you have done more of? What's one thing you would have done differently?

There's a lot we could all learn from the 99% of people who didn't get that wild success, but they don't schedule events to tell people about it. What you can do, however, is pay attention to the people you see who don't get what they want. Use your skills of perception: How is this person thinking, talking? What actions are producing results, which aren't? Who are the people they surrounded themselves with? What are the deference between her and the person whose success far surpasses theirs in the same field? Since you'd be hard pressed to get the infuriation directly, you have to learn to see between the lines of what's in front of you. It's there if you pay attention.
