[Scene: Thursday, February 6 2003. Altoona, Pennsylvania]
I woke up earlier than usual.
I had an 8:00 a.m. class, but I had already planned on skipping it. I had more important matters to tend to.
Rapper 50 Cent’s debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin', was released on this date. And I had big plans.
I knew that the Best Buy store in Altoona opened at 8:30, and I planned to be at the front doors as soon as they opened.
I purchased 50’s album, a 20 pack of blank rewritable CDs, and went straight to the computer lab on the Penn State Altoona campus.
I spent the next 90 minutes in the lab, skipping another class and burning copies of the hottest, most anticipated album of 2003. Then I spent the rest of the day with those bootleg albums in the pocket of my hoodie, selling them for $5 a piece to anyone who was interested.
I sold most of them. To this day, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ is my favorite album of all time.

My illegal bootlegging of 50 Cent is a form of “making something from nothing.” Or, you could call it “making something from something that was technically not mine.” Either way, I took something that existed out in the world and turned it into something valuable for myself.
You are further ahead than where I was back then. You have valuable stuff that is actually yours; you don't need to “borrow” it from anyone else.
Yet, you're having trouble converting your value into dollars and (50) cents.
You want to “get rich,” but the way things are going, you may “die tryin’”.
Would you like some help with that? It’s what I do in Work On Your Game University.
Here are some of the people who we've worked with in Work On Your Game University:
- A military veteran-turned entertainment marketer who helps musical artists get their name and music out to the world to build a fan base.
- A financial advisor whose issue was NOT making more money - but making sure that his professional success did not cost him his health and wellbeing.
- A retail clothing store owner who needed to implement more systems into her business, and is already up 25% this year on the quarter of a million in revenue that her business did last year.
These are just a few examples, and don't even mention the professional speakers, tech entrepreneurs, real estate brokers, e-commerce salespeople, personal development experts, coaches, cosmetics entrepreneurs, personal trainers and others who we’ve helped in the University.
You're next.
