Book Review: The Richest Man in Babylon by George C. Clason

“To bring your ambitions and desires to fulfillment, you must be successful with money. Use the financial principles made clear in the pages which follow. Let them guide you away from the stringencies of a lean purse to that fuller, happier life a full purse makes possible.
Like the law of gravity, they are universal and unchanging. May they prove for you, as they have proven to so many others, a sure key to a fat purse, larger bank balances and gratifying financial progress.

LO, MONEY IS PLENTIFUL

FOR THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND

THE SIMPLE RULES OF ITS ACQUISITION”

I think I'd be accurate to say I had read this book before, in the late 90s sometime. But I remembered not a word of it. So it's the same as if I was reading it for the first time ever. And Babylon is a re-reader many times over.

Babylon teaches the basic principles of money. The same principles that have been repackaged, added onto and sold by so many money experts of our current world. Yet, like many areas of life, the basics are all you actually need to be successful.

Babylon teaches the key principles - save a percentage, make it work for you, be smart with it, learn from experienced people - that you will find in every money book ever printed. Only Babylon will leave you much less confused. and there is little to dispute. The only thing that didn't jibe was "own your own house," which took very little space in the book. And Babylon tells the principles by way of story, and page-turning stories at that.

The Richest Man in Babylon is the best only book you need when it comes to money. As DJ Khaled says, secure the bag!
