I got an email today from Amazon.

As of the end of 2023, they’re killing off a product, Amazon Drive.

That was the long and short of the email. Here’s the context + why it matters for you…

Amazon Drive was a cloud storage product that Amazon had created to compete with Google Drive, Apple iCloud and other web-storage applications.

Apparently, Amazon is losing that race and decided to stop running.

This is a GOOD THING TO DO!!

Here’s the key idea: In business, the DATA DECIDES.

Not your feelings.
Not your gut instinct.
Not “quitters never win and winners never quit” (👈 a foolish cliche in business)
Not what you believe in so much that you will ignore the data.
Not what you will continue doing even when it’s a clear “dog” that needs to be taken out in the back yard and shot.

Amazon has more cash, more employees, more customers and more robots than you. Amazon can AFFORD to keep pouring time and money into something that’s not working and get away with it.

You can't afford it.
