I told the kid he could work out with me, under a few conditions.
He had to be on time. I set the rules for what we did. And he could not miss a single day.
He missed a day. And we never worked out together again. He showed up randomly one day and walked over to the my court, as if he expected to be welcomed back. I dismissed him and haven’t seen him since.
These days, many people avoid anyone and anywhere they’ll be challenged. Being challenged stirs up uncomfortable feelings that many people would rather not deal with. And that aversion to challenge — the exact thing many people need — is the very reason why many people never even approach fulfilling their potential.
Today is about challenge: seeking it out, receiving it and accepting it when it’s thrown your way.
