Fair. Unbalanced. Biased. Fixed. Hating. Not giving me a shot.

These terms often come into play when we see our situation as it compares to someone else’s. They got more playing time, even though you’re better. She got the promotion, even though you’ve been there longer. They’re making more money, even though I did the same amount of work.

I heard Stephen Curry explain how he never got upset while playing on an under-market contract as he blossomed into an NBA superstar. Steph said his dad taught him to never look at another man’s plate. I love that philosophy.
