There’s always another level.
Even when you’re clearly better than anyone in your orbit, that doesn’t means you’ve maxed out your potential. It doesn’t mean you can’t get better or that you can afford to stop pushing yourself.
The real greats in life, the people who leave marks on the world that are felt long after they’re gone, don’t measure themselves by what other people are doing (even if they may, at times, claim that they do). Those who are the best measure their status against their potential, and nothing else.
When it comes to effort, it’s only hard when you go harder than you have before. Otherwise you’re just treading water — which, for you, may still be the best of anyone in the pool. But it’s not *your* best.
