In Eastern cultures, the elderly are honored: They live in the homes of their children or other younger, more able-bodied relatives, and are cherished for their knowledge, experience and wisdom on life. Eastern cultures keep the elderly around out of honor and respect.
Western cultures? We build nursing homes, retirement communities, and hire nannies to help change their diapers. We don’t honor what brought us here in any way close to how they do in the East.
