I just came from a dentist visit today to have a cavity filled. There isn’t any pain. I was numbed with several needles, though, and when that stuff wore off last time I just felt pressure for a couple hours. On top of that, I can’t eat until the numbness is gone. I’m sure there’s a medical reason for that; for me the reason is I can’t chew or drink with half my mouth numb. I tried drinking water last time and my shirt drank more than I did.
But I’m still working. I’m writing my next book right now and have a very ambitious word-count goal for the day. And I will hit it.
Why am I so sure?
Because my future — the results of the greatness of that book and the response of the people who read it (like you) — is much more important than how I feel right now. As I work.
