Coming out of college, all I could do was HOPE for an opportunity. I had no resume, no strong backing, no one helping me out, and no information. I kept my eyes peeled for even the slightest chance of something happening that I could take advantage of, but there wasn’t much to be found in those early internet days.
Well, “wasn’t much” isn’t the same as “nothing.”
I went to an exposure camp — driving from Philly to Orlando — and did well. My scouting report and super-hustle in chasing agents become the start of my pro basketball career. The VHS film footage from that camp birthed my YouTube channel.
By 2009, I was getting emails and private message every day from basketball players who felt I could help them get on in the game. I’d become an opportunity myself.
Today’s show is how you can do it, without driving 19 hours in a rental.
