When I first came to South Florida, I wore my “Up North” exterior for years. By Up North, I don’t mean prison. I’m referring to my upbringing in Philadelphia and the mentality I’d learned to carry myself with. If you know anyone from New York, Boston, Baltimore or D.C. You’d see the same: stingy with smiles, hard looks at others, not very trusting of strangers, a chip on the shoulder.
Where I grew up, anything less made you a target for people who were searching for targets.
Now ten years into being a Florida resident, I’ve changed.
I smile and say hello to strangers. I walk around wearing sandals without socks. I do yoga regularly, and hang out at swimming pools for leisure. I am a product of my environment; always have been.
Today’s show details the practices I do on purpose to remain happy, upbeat, motivated and excited. There’s a formula to it that you can use as well.
