#442: How To Push Yourself To Action

In college, all the basketball team players would come to the gym every weeknight for pickup hoops. Usually it took awhile for the stragglers — non-team guys who liked sharing a court with us — to show up and for us to finally get games started. Teammates trickled in slowly, dragging their feet and taking their sweet time getting into their playing gear.

This scene always pissed me off. If we, the basketball team, the most serious players around, weren’t excited and moving as if we were excited to play, how could we expect others to be excited? Moreso, how could we expect the girls to come to the gym to watch us run and jump? Action begets action!

Today is about moving yourself to action, when you have plenty of reasons — or non-reasons — to do the opposite.
