I took summer classes one year in college. The classes were, I think, 2 and a half hours each, designed to stuff the 15 weeks of a normal semester into a month or so. You couldn’t miss a class, which would be like missing a month on the normal schedule. Just sitting in those classes was a task. It was excruciating. It was a complete waste of time, too, as I don’t remember much of what I “learned.”
I did have one economics professor, though, who shared one piece of info that I still know. IT was The First Rule Of Economics, which the professor always delighted in letting us know his 3-year-old nephew already knew and could recite verbatim: There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
Today is about paying, freebies and cost.
