If you didn’t see Brian “Birdman” Williams on The Breakfast Club radio show last week, check YouTube – it’s everywhere and it went viral. It was no more than 4 minutes total. Birdman felt his name was being disrespected on the show and he came to their studio to address it. Even though we took it all as internet humor, there are some great hints to learn from this for all you brand builders and entrepreneurs.

1) NEVER allow someone to talk down on your accomplishments, no matter who they are or why they’re saying it. You earned your spot, don’t allow that work to be diminished.

2) Your personal brand or business – if synonymous with your name – is YOU, which means anyone disrespecting your work or company is something you take personal. It’s what you do AND who you are.

3) When problems seem to be arising from multiple angles, make an example out of one dissenter to send a message to everyone. Problems will go away quickly after that.
