I will be sharing with you two different definitions of Corporate social responsibility (CSR) from Investopedia and Oxford Research Encyclopedia. And I want you to listen to both of these definitions because I'm going to address all of this here today. First, CSR is for a company to be socially responsible, it needs to be accountable to itself and its shareholders. For the latter definition, CSR is a legitimate responsibility to society. CSR goes beyond the legal, ethical, and financial obligations that create profits.
Today, let's talk about why this whole concept of CSR is garbage.
Show notes:
[13:58]#1 Your success does not mandate that you give charitably to others who have not achieved the same level of success as you have.
[27:12]#2 CSR is a social justice "woke" term that is based on someone having more, being indebted to people who have less.
[36:22]#3 The entire concept of social responsibility is a slippery term whose definition can be changed as needed.
