“Focusing on myself” is often a phrase that has now become an excuse as opposed to actually doing the work. No matter how long you look at yourself in the mirror there are still angles and certain parts of you that you can’t see. if you’re not doing something consciously and intentional, that you can lay out on paper and others can observe the actual work you’re doing, then you’re just fooling yourself.
